Multi-year SSL Certificates: (2 or 3 year SSL orders)

We offer DigiCert SSL certificates that are valid for two or three years.

Throughout this period, our Customer Portal will:

• Automatically handle certificate reissuance and reinstallation

• Send you timely email notifications for any required actions

 

Reissuance Every 365 Days

Although you purchase a multi-year SSL certificate, it is only issued for one year at a time due to industry rules. This means the certificate must be reissued annually.

 

 

Automatic Reissuance & Installation

If your server is:

• Hosted on our network, and

• Using a supported operating system

 

Then the Customer Portal will:

• Detect when reissuance is due

• Automatically reissue the certificate

• Attempt to install it automatically
  
  

 

When Manual Action Is Required

If your server is:

• Running Windows, or

• Not hosted with us

Then automatic reissuance and installation will not work.

You will need to reissue and install the certificate manually each year.

 

Manual Reissuance Instructions

To manually reissue your SSL certificate:

1. Log in to the Customer Portal

2. Go to: My Hosting & Services > SSL Certificate > Action Menu > Reissue Certificate

3. Paste your CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and submit the page

4. Check your email for a Domain Validation link

5. Click the link to confirm domain ownership

Once validated, your SSL certificate will be reissued for another year.

Accessing Your Reissued Certificate

After issuance, your new certificate will be:

• Sent to you via email, and

• Available for download in the Customer Portal
