FAQ
Do I get full root access?
Yes. A dedicated server is a single physical machine with no virtualization layer, so every resource is yours and you have full root control over its configuration and installations.
How is this different from a VPS or Semi-Dedicated plan?
There is no virtualization layer and no shared tenancy. All of the machine's physical resources (CPU, RAM, storage) are dedicated to you, and you control the whole box rather than a slice of it.
Are the cPanel, CloudLinux, and LiteSpeed licenses extra?
On the two Ryzen builds, no: cPanel for 100 accounts, CloudLinux Shared, and the LiteSpeed Web Server licence are bundled into the service price, with no separate licence fees. The two self-managed builds are different: the Dual E5-2680 v4 and the EPYC 7313 + A6000 GPU ship bare, so a control panel and its licences are yours to add. Worth knowing, because the Dual E5 is the build our starting price quotes.
Which operating systems can I run?
AlmaLinux, CloudLinux, RHEL, Ubuntu LTS, Debian, Windows, or your own license (BYOL). Note that the Reactive and Complete management tiers require CloudLinux or AlmaLinux with cPanel installed.
What happens if the hardware fails?
We target 3-hour hardware replacement, free remote reboots are included, and IPMI/KVM is available on demand for out-of-band access while we sort it out.
How many websites can I host?
As many as you like: IndicHosts sets no limit. The practical number depends on your server's resources, your bandwidth, and whether the sites are static HTML or heavier CMS-based apps.
